Awake, of Muse, the echoes of a day
Long past, the ghosts of mem'ries manifold --
Youth's memories that once were green and gold
But now, alas, are grim and ashen grey.
The drowsy schoolboy wakened up from sleep,
First stays his system with substantial food,
Then off for school with tasks half understood,
Alas, alas, that cribs should be so cheap!

The journey down to town -- 'twere long to tell
The storm and riot of the rabble rout;
The wild Walpurgis revel in and out
That made the ferry boat a floating hell.

What time the captive locusts fairly roared:
And bulldog ants, made stingless with a knife,
Climbed up the seats and scared the very life
From timid folk, who near jumped overboard.

The hours of lessons -- hours with feet of clay
Each hour a day, each day more like a week:
While hapless urchins heard with blanched cheek
The words of doom "Come in on Saturday".

The master gowned and spectacled, precise,
Trying to rule by methods firm and kind
But always just a little bit behind
The latest villainy, the last device,

Born of some smoothfaced urchin's fertile brain
To irritate the hapless pedagogue,
And first involve him in a mental fog
Then "have" him with the same old tale again.

The "bogus" fight that brought the sergeant down
To that dark corner by the old brick wall,
Where mimic combat and theatric brawl
Made noise enough to terrify the town.

But on wet days the fray was genuine,
When small boys pushed each other in the mud
And fought in silence till thin streams of blood
Their dirty faces would incarnadine.

The football match or practice in the park
With rampant hoodlums joining in the game
Till on one famous holiday there came
A gang that seized the football for a lark.

Then raged the combat without rest or pause,
Till one, a hero, Hawkins unafraid
Regained the ball, and later on displayed
His nose knocked sideways in his country's cause.

Before the mind quaint visions rise and fall,
Old jokes, old students dead and gone:
And some that lead us still, while some toil on
As rank and file, but "Grammar" children all.

And he, the pilot, who has laid the course
For all to steer by, honest, unafraid --
Truth is his beacon light, so he has made
The name of the old School a living force.

School Life Is the Best Time in Human Life

Happiness, sadness and other emotions, or even love sick, we all can find in our school time. That's why school life is the best time in human life. It is different from university life and adult life, very different! As I showed you above, during this time, we will develop many things like physical development, emotions, relationships, and especially knowledge.

Because school life only happens one time in your life (because you will grow up), so it is very precious. It marks a dramatic change in your whole life. Firstly, the faster physically you grow, the more you develop in mental. It marks your developing time to become a teenager. You are innocent and carefree. Materialistic is none of your concerns. You also have wild imagination, big dreams and ambitions to chase. But as a teenager, you will want to be more independent - which means you don't like to depend on your parents like a little child. And sometimes may be you will feel mature and rebellious. There are other things that you change in school time, but the best thing is you are yourself to do anything you want as you grow up.

Secondly, going to school also means you will have a lot of friends. There is nothing better than belonging to a great group of friends and nothing worse than feeling like an outcast. Friends are important, so during this time make as many friends as you can. They are shoulders for you to cry on when you are sad or happy so your sadness will be less, and your happiness will be twice. Talking about school time, you can never forget the time you share your sweet dreams to your friends, and they tell you theirs; the time you have fun with them playing on the school yard or going shopping or even playing truant together! ... No matter how good or bad those memories are, school time is still unforgettable with sweet friendship and platonic love. Going to school also means you will have new family, new moms who teach you many things about life. Your life will be colorful and beautiful!

Three of all, school life is the best time because it's time we learn many things, our knowledge will be widen, in both social and academic. You will discover those things you called "mystery" when you were a child, such as: "Where does the sun come from and go away everyday"" or "Why can't the trees grow without water and sunlight"" ... They are really interesting lessons. As you grow up, you will continue to learn other things and have deeper thoughts about life. You can develop your hobbies and skills through activities. Learning how to work in a group and individually is also important. Especially, may be you will have your early career!

When you go to the university, you will have to put those schooling memories behind and have to face the new environment: campus. On the contrary, you need to work and study individually to prepare for future career (may be a part-time job). And you will feel more complicated due to a wave of students from all over the country. After graduating from university, you will start your own life as an adult. It is much more serious than you thought when you were in school time some years ago. Adult life is full of million complexities. Your first problem is to find a job and gain a high-ranking position. Then, you have to work and earn money to raise your family and have to be individually and not depend on anyone to make important decisions about your life...

Wow, there are many things to think about as you grow up. However, your school life is still the best time in your life. You have known that university life and adult life are more complicated than school life. You can't depend on your parents anymore. So school time is the time for you to prepare for life.

In conclusion, I just want to emphasis that school life is the very best time in human life. So when you are young and still going to school, you should make this time as beautiful and colorful as you can.

School life

School is a daily routine for us
In the morning, we're sure to make a fuss
Even when the sun is still not up,
Here we are, awake at 6am sharp

We feel that school is such a bore
We feel that school is such a chore
Parents say, “School’s great! Now, go!”
We say, “Well, what do you know?”

Late a minute and we have to run
Eyes half open, shoelaces undone
We reach school and we see our friends,
Immediately, the torture ends

We have a chat and go with the flow
Then the bell rings, it is time to go
We may at times find school stressful
To have some fun, we have to bend some rules

Talk back to teachers, and detention we serve
No doubt, it is sometimes what we deserve
Sometimes they are as cold as ice
And other times they're actually really nice

They teach us and give us a helping hand
They’re forever ready to listen and be a friend
They have built much confidence in us
Just not when they are being really harsh

Over the years of education,
Never have we had so much learning with action
Such as camps, experiments, concerts and activities
We’ve learnt so much and even saved the trees

A wise teacher once said aloud -
Success is failure turned inside out
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit

Some may see school as a torture chamber
Some cannot wait for the holidays in December
But it depends on how we look at school
Honestly, positively, school is cool!

The School Day Begins

It's Monday morning at 7:01.
You’re still half asleep; your homework’s half done.
Your shower is cold; your oatmeal’s dry.
Your mother forgets to kiss you good-bye.
You’re walking to school; it’s thirty degrees.
Your fingers won’t work; your toes and ears freeze.
Your zipper is stuck; your left sneaker squeaks.
Your backpack strap snaps; your soup thermos leaks.
You slip on school steps; you trip in the hall.
The toilet floods in the bathroom stall.
The gym door is locked; library’s the same.
The principal greets you by the wrong name.
Your classroom is hot; the coat rack is packed.
Your bean sprout is dead; your clay pot is cracked.
Your pencils are dull; the sharpener jams.
Your fingers get crunched when your desktop slams.
Your math partner’s gone; your neighbor is rude.
Your teacher’s again in a crabby mood.
The morning bell rings; it is 8:01.
Come cozy up to the whiteboard,
Another school day’s begun.
Your shower is cold; your oatmeal’s dry.
Your mother forgets to kiss you good-bye.
You’re walking to school; it’s thirty degrees.
Your fingers won’t work; your toes and ears freeze.

This school was started in the year 1990 to meet the demands of the newly developing residential complex at charkop,Kandivli. Today the school is run in a spacious five storied building with a big play ground.

Its Members:

This institution is headed by Mrs. Bharati P. Iyer. She is assisted by supervisor Mrs. Nalini R. Shetty and her dedicated staff which includes 16 teaching staff members, 3 clerks, 2 peons, 1 watchman and 1 Sweeper.

Vision & Objectives:

It is rightly said that the development of 3 'R' s alone is not education. Education should aim at all round development of children. With this in view we not only complete the prescribed curriculum and prepare our pupils for the competitive exams like Middle School Scholarship, Navhind exams, etc. but also conduct various inter school competitions to tap the latent potentials in them. We also participate in a number of interschool competitions conducted by various organizations and have been regularly winning prestigious prizes. We provide our pupils a scope to develop their intellectual ability as well as creative interest.

Principal's Message :
"By nature all men are alike, but by education they become different"
This is an old proverb. We in our school direct our efforts in imparting education with moral values so that the little charges in our care grow up as fine human beings with humane qualities.

"Duty is seldom sweet. It is only when love greases its wheels that it runs smoothly".

"We are indeed indebted to our parents and well wishes for the love and faith they have bestowed on us. The unstinted co-operation extended by all with help us.

Scale new heights in the years to come.

HISTORY OF INDIAN EDUCATION SOCIETY

A glorious past and an illustrious present

A young sapling planted initially has blossomed into a tree spreading its branches and stems of education far and wide, the perfect example being Indian Education Society.

In the year 1911 King George V visited India

He believed that "Education means training which widens our mental horizons". His great passion for education, encouraged people to spread its light by starting more and more schools.

King George V visited India in the year 1911. The modest, simple calm and peace loving person made an announcement of "Education and Agitation. His great passion for education, encouraged people to spread its light by starting more and more schools. At times he also rendered a helping hand because he believed that "Education means training which widens our mental horizons".

On 29th September 1917 King George English School formed

Late Shri Nagesh Mahadev Kale, Late Krishnaji Mahadeo Barre, Late Shri Deshmukh, Late Shri Aras and Late Shri Koranne were the great founders of the school.

Inspired by his thoughts, enthusiastic young men - Late Shri Nagesh Mahadev Kale, Late Krishnaji Mahadeo Barre, Late Shri Deshmukh, Late Shri Aras and Late Shri Koranne started "King George English School scaled great heights and on 29th September 1917, Indian Education Society came into existence. The dream was to have an ideal educational institution in the vicinity of Hindu Colony, Dadar.

The dream became a reality in 1926

Late Shri Mathuradas Visanji contributed to lay the foundation, which branched out to different schools as seen today
in Raja Shivaji Vidya Sankul.

This dream became a reality in 1926 when Late Shri Mathuradas Visanji contributed Rs.60,000/- and one lakh twenty three thousand rupees were contributed by several other people. With the help of these funds, seeds were sown for a strong foundation, which branched out to different schools as seen today in Raja Shivaji Vidya Sankul. This small institution was nourished by late Shri B.N.Vaidya, Late Shri S.V.Nabar, Late Shri P.Y.Patkar, Late Shri Manikrao Lotlikar and Late Shri Padmakar Dhamdhere and because of their immense contribution and sincere efforts, it has reached the pinnacle of glory today.

For the last 90 years it has been glittering and progressing in leaps and bounds. We can put it like this. Indian Education Society make good students and good students make Indian Education Society.

First Girl's school was started at Ashlane, Dadar (W) in 1918

Mahatma Jyotiba Phule was instrumental in smooth working of the school. It helped to cultivat the seeds for a new girls school and a school for boys at Dadar.

Keeping in view the social environment the first Girl's school was started at Ashlane, Dadar (W) in 1918. This school has been renamed as "Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Kanyashala" in appreciation of the Work done by Mahatma Jyotiba Phule - the founder in the field of Women's education. The number of the students went on multiplying with the result that the "Girls' School No. 2" was started at Hindu Colony, Dadar in the year 1937. The institute continued its quest for excellence and in order to meet the growing demand of school for boys at Dader (West), Pinto Villa Boys High School started in the year 1939. This school was later renamed as "S.V."Nabar Guruji Vidyalaya" in recognition of his dedication to work.

Because of the growing popularity of English Language, convent schools were becoming the center of attraction. With a view of imparting our Indian cultural values in English, English medium school was started in Dadar in 1968. Besides academics, on account of the various cultural activities carried out and also due to the homely atmosphere created, demand for new schools at various places gradually increased and thus started a series of new schools.
